Hello Everyone, I’m Joy and this is Me

I’m Joy a Cumbria based photographer providing landscape prints from both the Lake District National Park and Scotland.

I’m a self taught photographer with a love for the outdoors and the beautiful Lake District and what  better place to concentrate on my passion for photography.

The Lake District is my home and first love but i’m equally at home in Scotland surrounding myself with the fabulous coastlines and the dramatic rugged landscape the Scottish Highlands.

Life of a Landscape Photographer

Spare a thought for the husband of a landscape photographer, to hear the constant complaining and twining about weather conditions. Ian is also on this journey with me.

We often go to places of my choice he’s the driver, the tripod carrier and the dog lead holder but he’s also my rock, support and encouragement.

He also knows when to stay quiet when things aren’t going to plan and without him most of this would be pointless.

It also helps that Ian loves getting out as much as I do, whether that be in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales or Scotland, taking our three dogs for walks and of course taking photos.

What Photography Means To Me

Photography for me is being in nature whether that’s by a lake in a woodland or by the coast i love the peace and calmness of it all and how it allows you to briefly switch off . When i started on this journey in 2019 i never imagined where i would be five years later. I’ve visited some amazing places and met some fabulous photographers and it’s through having a camera and a love for taking images that’s brought us together.

Away from Photography family is a very important part of my life, i love spending time with our three kids and our two grandchildren and listening music.

Away from the kids and grandchildren Ian and our dogs which we have three are my priority.
